I’m an Austin artist who paints more by instinct than by plan. After a 20-year break from art, I returned to the canvas and found that my need to control the outcome had disappeared. Now, I focus mostly on listening to the paint.

I'm fascinated by the stories we carry, especially the ones we've inherited about ourselves that eventually feel like truth. But stories can be rewritten.

As I paint, shapes emerge that read like new narratives. Sometimes I recognize myself in them immediately. Other times, they don't reveal themselves until it shifts from looking at the work to it looking back. The work reminds me that the world around us is a reflection of our inner verse—the story we tell ourselves—projecting outward.

My hope is that these paintings invite curiosity and offer a gentle reminder that we are free to rewrite our stories.
